The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix is returning to Belle Isle Park Labor Day weekend, August 29 - 31, 2008 and it's time to once again get the wheels turning. This world-class sporting event, featuring Free Prix Day presented by Comerica Bank, the Detroit Sports Car Challenge presented by Bosch and the Detroit Indy Grand Prix presented by Firestone, will directly benefit our community. Proceeds from the event are designated for improvements to the facilities at Belle Isle.

The success of this event, promoted by the Downtown Detroit Partnership, will depend heavily on the support of hundreds of volunteers who will assist in the production of the race weekend. The wheels can't turn without the hard-working, dedicated volunteers that contribute so much to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.

VolunteersThe Detroit Grand Prix Association is currently seeking volunteers for this year's event. The Detroit Grand Prix Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the official volunteer group of the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix and has assisted in the staging and production of the race since 1982. There is an annual $15 membership fee (U.S. funds) which entitles members to benefits such as race credentials for all three days of the race, official DGPA volunteer uniform, a DGPA patch and lapel pin, a great Kick-off party in August, ticket/merchandise discounts and more.

Detroit Grand Prix Association volunteers will be assigned to a variety of areas, including Circuit Marshalls, Credentials, Customer Relations, Food Services, Golf Cart Shuttle Service, Hospitality, Information, Media Center, Grand Prix Office - Pre-Race, Grand Prix Office - Race Weekend, On Track Services, Shuttle Guides, Ticket Takers, Transportation/Delivery Services and Ushers.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to volunteer for one of Detroit's most popular events.
