Verizon IndyCar Series driver Conor Daly, driver of the No. 4 ABC Supply Company Chevrolet for AJ Foyt Racing, was the guest of honor at Detroit Grand Prix Day at Comerica Park. Daly threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Detroit Tigers took on the Minnesota Twins. Before visiting Comerica Park, Daly joined Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Event Chairman Bud Denker and City of Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens announcing the renewed partnership between the Grand Prix and the City of Windsor. As a part of the partnership, Canadian fans can get a ticket to the Grand Prix and fast, reliable transportation to Belle Isle on Transit Windsor.
Grand Prix Poster Contest at the College for Creative Studies

For the fifth consecutive year, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and the College for Creative Studies partnered to create the official Grand Prix poster. Junior Kaylin Mahoney won win her watercolor design with two cars from the Verizon IndyCar Series racing below the iconic Detroit skyline. CCS student Lexi Pape finished second while the design created by Dan Rees earned third.
JR Hildebrand at Comerica Bank STEM Event

Verizon IndyCar Series driver JR Hildebrand from Ed Carpenter Racing was the guest of honor at the Comerica Bank STEM Event. Before the event, JR took part in a Detroit media tour before arriving at Central High School in Detroit. JR took part in a panel discussion with Comerica Bank President - Michigan, Michael Ritchie, and Grand Prix Public and Community Relations Director, Merrill Cain. The panel talked about the importance of STEM in racing and then announced that Comerica Bank was inviting the students to Comerica Bank Free Prix Day at the Grand Prix on Friday, June 2.

It was Grand Prix Night at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Thursday, February 23 as the Detroit Pistons took on the Charlotte Hornets. Verizon IndyCar Series driver Josef Newgarden was the guest of honor, taking part in media hits, signing autographs for fans, and taking part in on-court activities.
Family Day at the North American International Auto Show

Verizon IndyCar Series drivers Simon Pagenaud and Carlos Munoz joined IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship drivers Ricky and Jordan Taylor for Family Day activities at the North American International Auto Show. The drivers took part in morning media tours before a media availability session in the Verizon IndyCar Cafe.
The drivers then took the stage in the Cobo Center Atrium for a Question and Answer session with the driver of the Strategic Staffing Solutions Stadium Super Truck at the Grand Prix Aaron Bambach, Grand Prix Event Chairman Bud Denker, Verizon IndyCar Series CEO Mark Miles, Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports for General Motors Jim Campbell and the Senior Vice President, External Affairs for Comerica Bank Monica Martinez. After leaving the stage the drivers signed autographs and took selfies with fans.

For the first time, the pace cars representing Team Penske's 16 victories in the Indianapolis 500 were on display at the Art Van Furniture location on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, August 13-15, for the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Roger Penske, along with Team Penske Verizon IndyCar Series drivers Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud, team NASCAR drivers Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney and legendary Team Penske drivers including Rusty Wallace, Rick Mears, Al Unser Sr., Al Unser, Jr., Bobby Unser, Gil de Ferran and Sam Hornish Jr. took part in a ceremonial lap down Woodward for racing fans and car enthusiasts alike to enjoy.
