NTT INDYCAR SERIES (INDYCAR)
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is North America’s premier open-wheel auto racing series. It features an international field of the world's most versatile drivers – including championship contenders Josef Newgarden (USA), Alex Palou (Spain) and Pato O’Ward (Mexico) – who compete on superspeedways, short ovals, street circuits and permanent road courses. The 2026 season consists of 18 races in the United States and Canada and is highlighted by the historic Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES, INDYCAR, INDY NXT by Firestone, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IMS Productions are owned by Penske Corporation, a global transportation, automotive and motorsports leader.
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will be in action Friday-Sunday at the 2026 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear with the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix race set to take the green flag on Sunday, May 31 on the Motor City street circuit.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the premier sports car racing platform in North America – open to both Prototype sportscars and Grand Touring (GT) cars. Prototype showcases the latest automotive technology and are uniquely designed for the racetrack, and GT is based on road-going production models. Both the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) and the GT Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) classes will race at Detroit this summer, with the Cadillac and Corvette brands competing on their “hometown” track among the 11 different manufacturers competing across the two classes.
Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, who share the No. 93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06, are returning to defend their overall and GTP class victory in the 2025 Chevrolet Sports Car Classic. Ford Multimatic Motorsports claimed victory on its Motor City home soil in 2025 with drivers Sebastian Priaulx and Mike Rockenfeller sharing the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3. The team, rechristened as Ford Racing in 2026, comes back to Detroit with a new driver lineup for its updated No. 64 Mustang — Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker — and the returning No. 65 squad of Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies to face stiff competition from the likes of Corvette, Porsche, Lexus and more in this year's 100-minute street fight.
Featuring both the GTP and GTD PRO classes in action on the Downtown Detroit street circuit, the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic will compete on Saturday, May 30 at the 2026 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.
