The three-day event returns June 3-5, 2022 for the 32nd Grand Prix in Detroit’s history celebrating the final race weekend at Belle Isle Park before a return to Downtown Detroit in 2023. Next summer’s on-track action will once again include the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and Sunday’s Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix. The exotic sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship are also back on Belle Isle with practice and qualifying on Friday and the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic race on Saturday. For the second consecutive year, the rising stars of Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires will host two races on the 2.3-mile street circuit – one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Games, interactive displays, great food, live music and more is expected to return to the Grand Prix in both the Meijer Fan Zone and adjacent to the historic Scott Fountain all weekend long.
The Grand Prix tradition of Comerica Bank Free Prix Day returns on Friday, June 3. No tickets or online registration will be required for Free Prix Day in 2022.
Modifications were made to the layout of Grandstands 1 and 2 for the 2021 event and will remain in effect for 2022.
Grandstand 1 will include three sections and 16 rows of seating. Prix-mium viewing with padded-chair seats will be available at the top of the grandstand in all three sections.
Grandstand 2 will include four sections and 22 rows of seating. Note: In 2021, a tree line at Belle Isle Park created a viewing obstruction for Grandstand 2 seats located in Section A. As a result, Grandstand 2 will be realigned for 2022 and the one section removed to avoid any potential obstructed viewing.
