DETROIT, Mich. (Jan. 17, 2025) – Honoring Detroit’s rich automotive heritage while celebrating the car culture in the Motor City, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and the Detroit Auto Show are teaming up to bring a turbocharged car show to Downtown Detroit this summer. Detroit Grand Prix Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show will take place on Friday night, May 30. Classic cars, customized rides, hot rods, muscle cars, exotic vehicles and more will be displayed on the actual race circuit as the free, family-focused event will bring a cruisin’ close to the opening day of action at the 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.
Incorporating the signature Turn 3 hairpin turn on the 1.7-mile Detroit Grand Prix street circuit, Cruise Night vehicles will drive onto the track once the racing activity has concluded for the evening and cruisers will then park and display their rides on the long Jefferson Avenue front stretch leading into Turn 3. Fans will be able to enter the track surface free of charge to check out the cool vehicle display and enjoy a summer evening full of fun and automotive appreciation in the Motor City.
"We are excited to welcome car enthusiasts, families and everyone to be part of this cool new addition to this summer’s Grand Prix," said Michael Montri, President of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. "Detroit Grand Prix Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show will celebrate the tradition of automotive heritage and innovation in Detroit and what a great backdrop for a Friday night car show – on the Grand Prix track with some of the most iconic landmarks in the city all around you.”
Detroit Grand Prix Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show will also feature some unique experiences for fans throughout the evening, including tech talks with industry insiders, food trucks, music and more on the Grand Prix track. Once the evening’s activities are complete, the cruisin’ cars on display will continue race direction to complete a lap of the circuit before exiting the track.
