All Grand Prix ticketholders will also have access to the Fifth Third Bank Paddock – known as the locker room of motorsports and featuring the garage area for the teams and drivers competing in the event – to get an up close view of all the action.
“There was a special energy and excitement throughout the city this year as we brought the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear back to the Streets of Downtown Detroit for the first time since the early 90s,” said Michael Montri, President of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. “We can’t wait to build off that momentum in 2024 with some great viewing options for our fans. We encourage everyone to get their tickets early while the best seats are still available and, of course, Grand Prix tickets make great gift ideas and stocking stuffers for the holidays.”
In addition to reserved seating in one of the seven grandstands located around the 1.7-mile downtown street circuit that incorporates some of Detroit’s most popular downtown landmarks, next summer’s Grand Prix will also offer viewing from a unique perspective. Fans will be able to purchase general admission tickets to experience the excitement from one of the three Rooftop deck viewing areas on top of Center Garage, Franklin Street Garage and Port Atwater Garage. Each Rooftop viewing area will offer unique views of the Detroit skyline along with the on-track action below and a fun atmosphere all weekend long at the Grand Prix. Fans will have access to all three viewing decks with the purchase of a Rooftop ticket.
Tailgating ticket packages will also be new to the Grand Prix in 2024. Fans will be able to purchase a tailgate pass for Franklin Garage, overlooking the unique two-sided Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Pit Lane. The tailgate package includes a special parking pass for each vehicle, along with four GA tickets that provides guests the opportunity to not only view the action from their tailgating spot, but also access to the three Rooftop locations, as well as the Paddock area.
Grand Prix attendees will once again enjoy a diverse and exciting racing lineup competing on the challenging nine-turn street circuit in Downtown Detroit. The exotic sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will race wheel-to-wheel in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic on Saturday, June 1. The superstars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will compete in Round 6 of the 2024 season on Sunday, June 2 in the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix. The future stars of open-wheel racing will test their street course skills as INDY NXT by Firestone will also be in action Friday-Sunday at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.
Beyond the great racing, fans will enjoy entertainment and family-friendly fun all weekend long at the Grand Prix. Event attendees will have access to the popular Riverwalk while interactive displays games, food, music and more will be featured in Hart Plaza, along Jefferson Avenue and down Woodward Avenue to Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square.
For an interactive automotive experience at the Grand Prix, fans are encouraged to purchase passes for the Corvette Car Corral. Featuring a Corvette vehicle pass along with a Rooftop GA ticket, the Grand Prix Corvette Car Corral is the perfect way for Corvette owners to experience the Grand Prix, complete with the opportunity to drive their personal vehicles on the racing circuit during the scheduled on-track parade lap windows.
More exclusive viewing options, complete with hospitality service, will also be offered at the 2024 Grand Prix. Passes to the new Turn 3 Hospitality Club and the premier Pit Lane Suites will also be available for purchase.
With sold-out grandstands on Sunday of race weekend, as well as unprecedented free access across more than half of the venue throughout the three-day weekend, the 2023 Grand Prix welcomed an estimated crowd of approximately 150,000 people to Downtown Detroit. Featuring a more inclusive event than ever before in its Downtown return, the Grand Prix included free access for fans all weekend long in Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza, the Detroit Riverwalk and all along Jefferson Avenue with courtesy viewing platforms and activation areas adjacent to the racing circuit. The unique open access for fans will continue in 2024 and next summer’s event will raise the bar even higher with the three-day festival injecting excitement and an economic boost to Downtown Detroit.
